Great place to experience the Authentic Bhutanese cuisine. Visited here with an invitation from a family friend to try out the Bhutanese food. What an experience it was.We started with a famous starter called Juma. They also refer it as Sausages. Was a bit chillie but nice tatse. Do your research on how they make it. They confirmed that it's home made. They mainly use dried beef/pork for their dishes. We tried the dried beef with a cheesy curry and dried pork as a fried dish with reddish slices. Both were very yummy.Cheesy Potato curry was also soo nicely flaboured. Dhal curry had the usual Indian flavour. My family friend confirmed that there are almost 0 sugary desserts in Bhutan. So there were only ice cream and sticky date pudding for desserts. Thanks to the whole team!! I will definately try to find more Bhutanese resturants.
I absolutely cannot tell you how delicious this was. Even my children who are fussy eaters demolished all their dishes.Food is flavourful, creamy, fresh and simply delicious. This is our new favourite and cannot praise this restaurant enough!
After living alone in Sydney for a month and eating out all the time, I never realized how much I missed Bhutanese food until I got to Canberra. I’d been craving it for weeks, and when I finally found a place, it was like a taste of home. OMG the sikkiam pa (dried pork) was incredible honestly, a chef’s kiss. It was hands down the highlight of the meal. Every bite took me straight back to Bhutan, and the flavors were so authentic. The service was fantastic, and I was also glad there was plenty of parking. I can't wait to go back and enjoy more of that amazing food.
It’s our first time trying Bhutanese food and we enjoy it, plus good service and atmosphere with easy parking.
I was at Druk Family Restaurant today for dinner with my sister, nephew and neice, which is located in beautiful suburb of wooden. The dried beef, dried pork, chilli cheese, lentil soup and pork sausage got its authentic Bhutanese flavour and the strawberry shake was well presented and perfect...we all really had a amazing time there and also the service was excellent and our server, she was friendly and very polite.
Visited this restaurant twice in the 3 days we were in Canberra- absolutely stunning! The momo platter was by far my favourite dish.Sharing with friends but could have easily eaten then all myself. The crunchy chicken and chow mein is so yum! Also tried the suja butter tea- delicious and filled me up quickly!Lovely location, premises and staff.Happy to still take orders as we arrived in Canberra quite late.Thank you so much it was amazing!
